Our Goals & Programs

At MI Legends Foundation, we believe that true leadership starts with service. Each year, we focus on creating opportunities for young people to give back, grow, and lead with purpose.

Community Service Projects

Our goal is to complete four major community service projects each year, with hands-on involvement from athletes, families, and volunteers. These projects are designed to make a real difference right here in our community, including:

  • Care Kits for Veterans – assembling and distributing care packages for local veterans.

  • Food Round-Up for Fish & Loaves – collecting non-perishable items to support families facing food insecurity.

  • Donation Drive for Downriver Foster Closet – gathering clothing, school supplies, and essentials for children in foster care.

  • Legends for Literacy – encouraging reading and mentorship through book donations and literacy activities.

  • Care Kits for Families & Kids in Transition – supporting families experiencing homelessness or housing instability with basic needs and comfort items.

Each project is more than a one-day event, it’s a way for our youth to see the impact of teamwork, empathy, and service in action.

Youth Advisory Council

Our Youth Advisory Council gives young leaders a seat at the table. This group of 3–4 student representatives helps plan, promote, and execute our community service initiatives throughout the year. The council empowers youth to use their voice, develop leadership skills, and take ownership in shaping a better future for others.

Academic Scholarships

We’re also proud to offer scholarships for volleyball players who demonstrate excellence on and off the court. These awards help remove financial barriers and ensure that every deserving athlete has the opportunity to continue their journey in sports and education.
